Do you know billing can be used to detect leak and misconfiguration? Cost anormaly usually means workload anormaly. It is particuarly obvious when team is hosted in fine grained account structure, where cost sensitivity can be high.
In this example, when a monthly bill is re-visualized by grouping and ranking with services and categories, we noticed a sharp cost surge on CloudTrail, overtaking all other services. We later detected a misconfiguration and addressed it.
Cost is a powerful tool. Visualization makes it more powerful.
